Hot Springs Flying Field Rules
- No Fly Zone:
Over the pit area/shelter and apron to flightline, spectator area and the parking lot.
All flying should be conducted on the far side of the runway centerline.
Exceptions are take offs and landings from the runway or grass.
- Pilots should stand at or behind the white flightline or a pilot cage while flying.
- Announce your intention at the flightline.
Taking off, landing, hand launch, emergency situation or on the runway to retrieve an aircraft
(on and off runway quickly).
“DEAD STICK” Gas/glow or electric with no power have the right away for emergency landings.
- Starting and running up of any form of engine/motors should be done on the concrete tables or
starting stands. Batteries should be installed in electric powered aircraft at concrete tables or
starting stands.
- Aircraft must not be taxied in the pit area or apron (the blacktop behind flight line.)
The only exception is: large aircraft that are unreasonable to be carried may start & taxi on
the grass right or left of the apron.
- Drones etc.
There is a designated area for drone flying.
No takeoffs or landings in the pit area.
The drone flightline will be designated by a strip of dead grass.
There is an out of bounds line on the right near the runway.
